A popular UK gym offering tailored personal training sessions has plunged into liquidation, according to a public notice published in The Gazette. Mark Jensen Fitness Limited, which trades from 28 Frederick Street in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, has entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.
The company, registered under number 11621845, lists its nature of business as “physical well-being activities.” A notice confirms that a virtual meeting of creditors is due to take place on May 18, 2026, at 11am. The notice says: “NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Rule 15.13 of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016, that a virtual meeting of the creditors of the above named Company will be held on the date and time specified in this notice for the purposes mentioned in Section 100 of the Insolvency Act 1986.”
It adds that the Insolvency Practitioners named in the notice are qualified to act in the matter and that a list of the company’s creditors can be inspected free of charge at the address provided in the two business days before the meeting.
According to the notice, resolutions at the meeting may include setting out the terms on which the liquidators will be paid.
Creditors may also receive information about, or be asked to approve, the costs of preparing the statement of affairs and convening the meeting.
Creditors who wish to attend and vote must deliver proof of their debt by no later than 4pm on the business day before the meeting.
Those unable to attend can nominate someone to act on their behalf or appoint the chairman of the virtual meeting, who will be a director of the company, to vote for them.
The notice is signed “By Order of the Board” by Mark Jensen, Director.
The joint insolvency practitioners handling the case are Jasmine Baxter and Rikki Burton, both of Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners Limited, based in Chorley, Lancashire.
