Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared as though they’d “never been away from the UK” during their recent return to Nottingham, according to a body language expert. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose return to Britain has sparked intense public interest, showed no signs of nervousness as they stepped out together. According to body language expert Darren Stanton, the couple appeared completely natural and deeply connected during their engagements.
Stanton noted that despite the years spent living in America, the couple seamlessly slipped back into their royal roles. Speaking to Betfair Casino, the body language expert said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed very at ease in Nottingham. It was almost like they’d never been away from the UK, despite all the years they spent living in America.”
“The duo are almost like a duck to water because they seemed so natural. They’re back in the flow, and both of them displayed no issues with nervousness and no confidence hiccups.”
The expert highlighted the couple’s genuine enjoyment in meeting the crowds, adding, “Both Meghan and Harry love interacting with the public, and the people who turned out to see them appeared really enthusiastic to catch a glimpse.
But it was the subtle interactions between the husband and wife that caught Stanton’s expert eye, pointing out Harry’s strong instinct to shield his wife.
He said: “In terms of how they interacted together, they were standing very close and displayed prolonged eye contact. Both Harry and Meghan are on the same page.”
“Harry was in protective mode as he’s holding her hand. There was no aloofness between them; everything seemed just as it was before.”Stanton also noted that Harry could be seen “glancing back every now and again to check that Meghan is okay”.
However, Meghan proved she was more than capable of holding her own. The Duchess of Sussex appeared confident and self-assured, according to the expert.
“Once they separate, Meghan is very good at working the crowd,” Stanton said, adding that her interactions showed true warmth rather than “socially polite or slightly forced smiles”.
“Her whole face is engaged, and her feet remain close together, which adds to the impression that she’s comfortable and focused on the people she’s speaking to,” he concluded.
