Royal Family LIVE: Harry and Meghan ‘cheering Earl Spencer on’ after book claims source | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly feel “vindicated” by Earl Charles Spencer’s new book about Princess Diana, a source has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who remain close with Harry’s uncle, have spent years criticising the royal institution, claiming that it does not always protect the people in it.

Now, Earl Charles Spencer’s new book ‘Swan Song’ is addressing some of these same points, as well as making destructive allegations. In his latest piece for Naughty But Nice, royal expert Rob Shuter has claimed that royal sources have confirmed Harry and Meghan are pleased with the book.

The source said: “Harry feels completely vindicated. For years, he was accused of betraying the family by speaking publicly. Now Diana’s own brother is opening the same vault and describing a Windsor world Harry recognises immediately. Harry and Meghan believe Diana’s story shows what happens when protecting the institution becomes more important than protecting the person. To them, this book doesn’t just revisit Diana – it helps explain why they left. They’re saying, ‘This is exactly what we’ve been talking about.’”

It is believed Harry is also “cheering” his uncle on behind closed doors. The source reportedly said that Meghan and Harry are ‘privately cheering’ Charles Spencer on.

The Sussexes’ representatives have been approached for comment.
