The Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death of 18-year-old Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio a homicide. She was found with a gunshot wound inside a Mattapan rental home owned by Conan Harris, husband of Democratic U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley.

No arrest has been announced, and police have not identified a suspect or released further details about the shooting.
“I am devastated about the death of Yoseliani Marte, an 18-year-old with so many dreams ahead of her, her life cut short by domestic violence,” Pressley said on July 18.
Her family described her as a deeply loved young woman with dreams and a bright future.
“No words can truly express the pain of losing someone so young, with so many dreams, hopes, and milestones still ahead of her. Yoseliani was deeply loved by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. Her kindness, beautiful spirit, and bright future will never be forgotten,” it stated.
Boston police homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Marte Ocasio’s death, with efforts being led by the Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit.

In addition, information can be submitted anonymously, including photos or videos, through the Boston Police CrimeStoppers Program.

“The Boston Police Department protects the identities of all individuals who provide information anonymously,” it stated.
Police further said that those affected by the homicide may contact the Boston Neighborhood Trauma Team at 617-431-0125. The team offers free, confidential emotional support around the clock.
