The Action Thriller Series Everyone’s Been Waiting for Releases in 1 Month

Although Prime Video has been busying itself with superhero releases and video game adaptations of late, it’s been almost impossible to ignore the absence of one of the platform’s most successful shows. The most recent season of the beloved action thriller in question concluded in March 2025. While that’s not that long ago by the streaming era’s standards, I’ve still found it to be an agonizing wait. Finally, it’s been confirmed that we’ll only be waiting a matter of weeks now.

I’m not really a massive action thriller fan. I’m more of a sci-fi guy. But, every now and then, something more grounded and continually action-packed grabs my eye, and I feel compelled to give it a try. In 2022, Reacher was the show that did that to me. I loved Season 1, and the following two runs were also incredibly entertaining. The live-action adaptation of Lee Child’s book series is a blend of detective work, Americanized 007-esque missions, and, of course, cool explosions. I can’t wait for Season 4 to keep the party going.

‘Reacher’ Season 4 Officially Premieres in August 2026

We’ve been knocking on the door of Reacher Season 4’s potential release window for a while now, so it’s great to know exactly when Alan Ritchson’s towering antihero will be back. Wednesday, Aug. 12, will see Prime Video drop the first three episodes at once, repeating the initial release strategy of Reacher‘s previous two runs. Season 4 will be eight episodes long in total, adapting Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow novel for the small screen. Installments will be released weekly after Aug. 12, with a new one dropping each Wednesday until the finale on Sept. 16.

Excitingly, according to NorthHollywoodBuzz, the already-confirmed Reacher Season 5 is already on the cusp of beginning production. Shooting is set to begin this month and is expected to wrap before 2026 is over. So, not only do we have Season 4 to get pumped up about, but also what will likely be a speedy turnaround that could easily result in more episodes in 2027. Given the show’s immense success to date, I would be very surprised if Reacher Season 6 wasn’t announced soon as well.

‘Reacher’s First Spin-Off Is Also Coming Very Soon

Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley is barely in Lee Child’s books, but Reacher showrunner Nick Santora has made very heavy use of the character. That expanded role will continue not just into Reacher Season 4, but also the imminent Neagley Season 1. The spin-off was announced in Feb. 2025, but details have remained scarce. We still haven’t even had a trailer for it, which I would say is likely to come soon. On the other hand, maybe it won’t need one.

It’s now been announced that Neagley will premiere on the same day as Reacher Season 4 concludes: Sept. 16. All eight episodes of Neagley‘s inaugural run will drop at the same time. Ritchson is also confirmed to be reprising his role in at least one episode of the spin-off, further suggesting a blended transition from Season 4’s storyline into the adventure that Sten’s character is about to embark upon. So, just as Aug. 12 is a day to circle in the calendar of Reacher fans, Sept. 16 is arguably an even bigger landmark to wait for.
