Officials say California is turning a corner, with crime down and more people choosing to stay and live in the state. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that new data released this week shows a significant drop in crime across the state in 2024. Newsom says burglary is down 13.6 percent and larceny is down 18.6 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels.
