The West Texas measles outbreak, the largest the United States has seen in more than two decades, is officially over after meeting the criteria of six weeks since the last reported case, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) on Aug. 18.
The DSHS said they are now shifting focus to vaccination campaigns to prevent future outbreaks.
