Asda has introduced a huge offer for its loyal customers. For the first time, the supermarket has expanded its Rewards app to fuel, allowing shoppers to save money at the pumps. The retailer is offering customers who spend £40 or more in a single in-store transaction 5p off every litre of fuel. However, motorists will have to be quick as the offer ends July 31.
Shoppers will automatically have the coupon added to their Rewards app after completing an eligible purchase, and it can be used for one fuel transaction until August 7.
The retailer said that a motorist filling a 60-litre family car could save up to £3 through the promotion, available at 321 supermarkets and Express sites selling Asda-branded fuel.
Chief customer officer Rachel Eyre said: “We’re making Asda Rewards even more rewarding. Asda is more than just a supermarket and we’re always looking for new ways to help families save on top of our low prices.
“Through our new Grocery and Fuel Bonus, customers can now unlock savings on fuel alongside their weekly shop, another step in our plans to keep growing Asda Rewards and give our customers even more value every time they shop with us.”
It comes as Asda continues efforts to rebuild sales momentum under its turnaround strategy.
The supermarket reported a 0.8% increase in like-for-like sales during its first quarter, reversing some of the decline seen in the previous three-month period, when sales dropped by 4.2%, Retail Gazette reports.
This deal allows Asda to encourage customer spending across its wider estate.
Customers can redeem the offer until July 31 by scanning their Rewards barcode and fuel coupon at the pump or kiosk.
