US President Donald Trump admitted he accidentally called his wife Melania “Melody” as his admission sparks further “dementia” fears. While speaking at the White House, Mr Trump claimed that spell-check would change his wife’s name while he was writing posts on Truth Social, and he wouldn’t notice because of how fast he works.
He then bizarrely claimed that the military fixed the spell-check function so that it wouldn’t change Melania to Melody. He said: “Every time I wrote ‘Melania,’ it would word correct to ‘Melody … Sometimes I wouldn’t proofread it, and I would get absolutely decimated…
“They said, ‘He didn’t know the name of his wife!’ I said, ‘What the hell is wrong with this machine?’ … You know who corrected it? The military.”
One person joked: “I’ve got GREAT DEMENTIA, a lot of people say it. I don’t remember WHO SAID IT, because MY DEMENTIA IS TREMENDOUS! BTW, have I told you about my AMAZING DEMENTIA?!?”
Another suggested Mr Trump was “sundowning”, referring to the dementia-related behaviours – including increased confusion, agitation, anxiety, and pacing – that occur in the late afternoon or early evening.
Another social media user mocked: “He needed the military to fix autocorrect? He could have given it one of his grand kids or his genius son that knew how to turn on a computer.”
An angy commenter added: “He cant even be bothered to proofread his own tweets but expects the military to fix it for him, says a lot about his priorities and respect for the military’s time and resources.”
