Inside Harry and Meghan’s UK plot ‘to make the biggest spectacle’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly keen to make “the biggest spectacle” during their return to the UK next month. The couple are said to be flying out to the UK with their children later this week, with the family thought to be spending one week in Britain.

It has been reported that after his request for taxpayer-funded security was denied last week, Harry and his family will be travelling to the UK with his own security. One source close to Harry told Page Six that the royal always travels with “one of two of his own security team”.

The source also revealed that the Sussexes will not be flying to the UK on a private jet.

The forthcoming visit has been planned so that Harry can attend the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games.

Founded by Harry in 2014, the 41-year-old always attends the Games, with next year’s events to be held in Birmingham between July 10 and 17, 2027.

Harry will also be keen for his children to spend time with their paternal grandfather, King Charles, next month. According to the source: “They know it will make the biggest spectacle. They will want photos of them being ‘royal.'”

According to royal expert Kate Mansey, a picture of the King with Archie and Lilibet could be the “ultimate money shot”. Writing in a recent article for The Times, Ms Mansey said: Picture the scene: the King smiles for the camera as he sits on a sofa by two beautiful children.

“At first glance, the little ones are not immediately recognisable. Then, on closer inspection, the family resemblance becomes apparent, the red hair from their father, the Duke of Sussex, revealing that they are Charles’s grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

She then added: “It’s an image that would surely go viral, pinging on smartphones around the world… For the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it would be the ultimate money shot.”
