The King and Queen this afternoon hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at Highgrove House, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. As it was a private meeting, no images of the family reunion will be released.
It marks the first time the King has seen his two youngest grandchildren in over four years, since the Sussex family travelled to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
Meghan had been due to attend the Birmingham event with her husband earlier on Friday, but did not fly to the UK with Harry earlier this week because of security concerns.
However, it was reported that the Duchess would travel to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
After Harry left the Birmingham venue at lunchtime, he is understood to have travelled to the King’s private residence in Tetbury, with Meghan and the children joining him there.
It is not known how long the Sussex family stayed at Highgrove but the significant family reunion comes after a bruising week for the Duke, who lost a £50 million privacy case against the publishers of the Daily Mail.
