Princess Catherine believes that Sarah Ferguson “deserves mercy” and is offering sympathy and support to the former duchess, sources have claimed. Speaking to the examiner, two royal sources claim that the future king is diffusing tensions between Fergie and the Royal Family amid claims that the former wife of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor might look to give a tell-all interview in the near future.
The sources told the publication, Catherine “absolutely agrees that they do need to create distance and they need to be seen as cutting ties with her. What she doesn’t agree with is the harsh way it’s been done.” The close confidant added, “She believes Sarah deserves that bit of mercy, that they should take her calls and let her say her piece,” especially given that her former husband is “getting off relatively easy for his grave mistakes.”
