Several aftershocks have rattled the major city of Naples in Italy overnight after yesterday’s first tremor. On Friday, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit the town of Pozzuoli, which sits on the Campi Flegrei volcanic area.
Videos and photos circulating on social media show debris across the streets and damage to buildings. The first tremor was followed by a 3.8-magnitude aftershock, which, much like the first quake, was distinctly felt in Naples too. Overnight, around 15 tremors were felt above magnitude 2, including a 3.1-magnitude earthquake recorded at 5.47am local time (4.47am BST). At least 21 people were injured, including two in a serious condition, according to Fabio Cicliano, who is leading the Unita di Crisi.
