The nuptials took place last Saturday at St Luke’s Church, Milland, West Sussex, according to royal historian Marlene Koenig’s blog, Royal Musings. Ella Louise Georgina Mountbatten is the eldest daughter of Lord Ivar Mountbatten and his former wife, Penny Mountbatten. Prince Edward is one of her godparents.
The 30-year-old currently works as the EU Partnerships and Brands manager with Flexjet, a luxury private aviation company.
Her husband, also 30, is said to be working as an insurance relationships executive with Miller Insurance Services, LLP.
According to the historian, Ella is a descendant of Queen Victoria and her grandfather, David, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven, was a first cousin to the late Prince Philip.
Lord Ivan, who was the first member of the extended Royal Family to come out publicly as gay in 2016, announced his daughter’s engagement last year.
He said in a picture on Instagram which showed the happy couple and the stunning engagement ring:
“I couldn’t be happier to announce the engagement of my eldest and most precious daughter Ella @ellamountbatten to her fabulous boyfriend Fergus.
“Ferg is not one to be rushed so I am incredibly pleased that he has finally put us all out of our misery! I know he will look after my daughter to his dying day – they couldn’t be better suited.
“Enjoy this special time in your life. Much love to you both.”
