“Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie and her family have pledged half a million dollars to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to support other families experiencing similar situations.
The donation accompanies a $1 million reward offered by the family for information leading to the recovery of their 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie.
Savannah Guthrie said in a Feb. 24 Instagram post that her family hopes that the attention that has been given to their case would be extended to all families in the same crisis.
Michelle DeLaune, CEO, National Center for NCMEC confirmed the donation in a statement.
DeLaune said their support will help provide guidance and resources for loved ones “living with pain and uncertainty” as they continue to search for answers in the disappearances of loved ones.
“Our hearts remain with the Guthrie family as they continue to fight for Nancy,” she added.
In addition to runaways, family abductions, and nonfamily abductions, NCMEC also handles lost, injured, or otherwise missing and critically missing young adults.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen by a family member at her Tucson, Arizona, home on Jan. 31. She was reported missing Feb. 1.
The “Today” show host, in a previous video, acknowledged that her mother may no longer be alive.
Separately, an additional $102,500 is being offered through Tucson Crime Stoppers, along with the FBI’s $100,000 reward.
Tipsters should call 1-800-FBI with only credible information, the agency said.

The suspect in the case is described as a male, approximately 5’9” to 5’10”, with an average build. In published images, the suspect is wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.
