An illegal immigrant accused of shooting a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer in New York City on Saturday night has been arrested, while a second suspect remains at large.
Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, a national and citizen of the Dominican Republic, has since been captured.
Two years ago, Nunez was apprehended at the southern border in San Luis, Arizona, but released, according to DHS.

NTD reached out to DHS for additional details on the second suspect.
According to DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin, the officer, who was on-duty at the time, was hospitalized and remains in stable condition.
President Donald Trump commended the officer for fighting back against the shooter.
CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott also praised the unidentified officer for springing into action despite being shot in the face.
The case continues, with the New York Police Department investigating the incident, according to DHS.
DHS has highlighted the dangers that federal agents have faced during their enforcement of Trump’s directive.
Assaults against federal officers and agents have risen nearly 700 percent, according to Noem, who said that people are attempting to reveal the identities of federal agents to target them and their families with threats and intimidation.
